EGYPTIAN BELLYDANCE I – BEGINNERS (90MINS)

COURSE GOALS:
To learn all basic movements taught in class and participate in performing movements by demonstration of individual expression of the dance. To develop an awareness of Middle Eastern dance history, music and rhythms.
PLEASE WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING THAT WILL ALLOW THE INSTRUCTOR TO SEE DANCE MOVEMENTS. BRING SCARF FOR HIPS AND TOWEL OR MAT FOR WARM UP AND COOL DOWN EXERCISES – SHOES NOT REQUIRED. SOCKS OR BARE FEET ACCEPTABLE. **3 YARDS OF SHEER FABRIC (CHIFFON, GEORGETTE, SILK, ETC.) FOR VEIL WORK.
All classes will include:
1. Warm up: Endurance and strengthing postures, Aerobic Exercises
2. Cool Down Stretches – Stretches & breathing on mat
3. Dance Foundation – Breathing, Posture, Muscle Isolation & Control, Core Centering and Balancing
